Almost Three!

My daughter’s almost 3! Exactly one month to go and she’ll soon celebrate her 3rd birthday! Isn’t that exciting? What’s more exciting to look forward on this occasion is that my eldest sister and elder brother are here in the Philippines to celebrate her birthday with us! I can’t wait to be with them since we get to spend so little time with them because my sister is based on the US and my brother’s working as a seafarer and it’s only now that we’re complete as a family.

I’m thinking of buying Hannah a Barbie cake since she’s into dolls nowadays and i just saw a variety of cute Barbie cakes from Red Ribbon. The one that I liked the most costs around P1200 so I think I’m gonna settle with that cake. It’s gonna be a family affair with some of my friends and co-workers from work to be invited. Hannah won’t have a party but there’s still gonna be kids since it’s a kids birthday party  I decided skipping a birthday party because first it’s more expensive and second I just want to spend her birthday with my family and close friends this time. I just hope it won’t rain because I remembered last year rained very hard and we had an outdoor birthday party, so just imagine how hard cleaning up after the rain.

Anyways, eventhough I haven’t blogged religiously here, I don’t want to shut it down completely coz when I decide to enroll Hannah next year as a nursery, I would update here the developments and hopefully recognitions she would get from her school. You see Hannah learns very fast and can’t wait to go to school…me too! For the moment, I am the one who teaches her once in awhile when I dont work so that when the time comes to go to school, she’s already ready and won’t be having a hard time learning.

Good Health Matters Most

I had Hannah checked up by her pediatrician just this week because of fever. It was already 2 days that she was sick so I decided to let her pediatrician see her. Hannah's not the type whose often sick so the visit to her doctor made me worried. The doctor just gave her medicines and told me to observe if she's going to get well after a week, and if not we have to go back again to have her checked up again.

Before that, there were so many babies and toddlers at the hospital that was sick so we have to wait in line for our turn and too bad the doctor was still not in so we have to wait more until she arrived. To pass time I observed around the hospital and can't help but noticed that the medical scrubs that the nurses use has been changed already. Before, it was just plain off white, but now the scrubs for men and women has some color on it like blue and pink. It was really cute and looks stylish than before. Well, I just thought that maybe the hospital bought it on some scrub stores because you definitely won't find it in department stores.

Well anyway, it has been 3 days that Hannah's well already, thank God for that because I don't have to return her to the pediatrician. I just hope that my daughter will always stay healthy because I am really not fond of going to the doctor when she gets sick. I know all mothers will agree with me. Like me, we all want our children to be healthy and strong and free of any types of illnesses.

Hannah's Birthday

I just thought that it’s only 4 months to go till Hannah’s 3rd birthday! How time flies indeed! Honestly, I still dont have any plans as to what her celebration will be unlike before that I really plan ahead like 6 months before her birthday, I’m already busy preparing and scouting for possible suppliers for her birthday.

I think this time we will have a simple celebration, just family and close friends. I also want Hannah to travel or go on an out of town trip with me if I have the budget. But it is most unlikely to happen this year. Maybe 2 or 3 years from now. I’ll just think about planning her birthday maybe in May or June.

Your Baby Can Read

I recently bought Your Baby Can Read DVD's from an online seller which sells copies of the dvd's from her original copy. The copied dvd's were very clear and the audio is very good too. It consists of 6 dvd's which includes parent workshop, review, starter, and volumes 1,2 and 3.

The video series is designed to help babies and toddlers learn to read early. The video shows babies as early as 9 month and 12 month old already reading simple words like wave, nose, eyes, clap, elbow, etc. I was really amazed at how this video actually works! Currently Hannah and her cousins watches this video series everyday so I really hope they'd be able to learn to read just like the kids I saw in the video. I will let you know if they have any developments though Hannah can read about only 2 words from the video like Hi and Baby. I think that's an accomplishment already, right?

My kids' New Year's resolutions for 2011

A few weeks ago my daughter Alice walked into the living room when I was writing down my New Year's resolutions for 2011. She asked me what i was doing and I told her. Then I had to explain what resolutions are and she decided that she was going to make a few too.

I thought it was cute that she wanted to make some resolutions too, so I humored her and helped her with hers. I told my mom about it on Facebook a few days after that and she though that it was funny too, but would encourage Alice to keep hers. The same night that I was telling my mom that, I happened across the website CLEARWIRELESSINTERNET4G.COM and after I looked through it a little bit, I decided to sign up for that provider's service.

Out of all the kids New Year's resolutions that my daughter made, the cutest one is probably that she's going to play tea time with her stuffed animals every day. I told her that was okay and that if she told her stuffed animals that, she was going to have to stick to it.

This year, I'm not going to go to any of our friends' New Year's Eve parties. IÕm not really into all of that. Christmas just left me so exhausted that I think that I'm about all partied out by now. I thought that this year I would do something nice for my family instead.

I got the idea when I was responding back and forth with my aunt via e-mail and our clearwire wireless internet. I hadn't spoken with her in a while and she had gotten a picture of our kids in the Christmas card that I sent her. It was nice to just catch up with her, even if it was just through e-mails.

That got me thinking that I hadn't visited my great-aunt in a while, so I'm spending New Year's in the nursing home with her. Of course I wont' be staying late becuase they don't allow visitors in there very late but I think that she'll really appreciate it. I love to listen to her stories and could always hear a few of them.

Growing up in an NBA family means that claiming a favorite team is a must. Along with this means you also have some bitter rivals. None of these rivalries are more enthusiastic or cutthroat than the L.A. Lakers and Boston Celtics.

Growing up in L.A. means that Lakers are the goto team for my entire family. So every year that there is a home game against the Celtics, my family is there. We throw on our jerseys, pack up the car, and then set our home security alarm (home security systems Louisville information) before heading off to this intense match up. The air is practically electric as we near the Staples Center, not long ago our beloved Coliseum. We know that we will be in for a treat as flyers are handed out at the door with custom chants for the Lakers and personalized nagging for the Celtics. The magic of this rivalry cannot be beat and we are always blessed with an enthusiastic, exciting game. Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose, but every year we will be at this game without a doubt.

It's gonna be the last day of the year 2010 tomorrow and we are all excited since it would be another time to light our lucis which is the only one allowed on our home to light up when the clock starts to wind down to welcome the New Year. We were never a fan of firecrackers because we have children to protect so the blowing of horn or torotot in Filipino, is the only way to welcome 2011 as well as lighting of lucis.

There are some superstitions that some Filipinos follow in order to become lucky on the coming year all of them pertaining to a coin or money which means to have more money in the coming year. Some of them are wearing polkadots, the polkadots being the shape of a coin, preparing fruits with a round shape on one's home, for children, jumping up and down to become taller and a lot more. I must admit that when I was younger, I tend to do some of this stuff believing my wishes would come true. A lot of Filipinos still do some of this superstitions and I cannot blame them since it has become sort of a tradition here.

I just hope, there would be less accidents this year since we all know how dangerous firecrackers are when not handled carefully. So let's all start welcoming 2011 with a bang but all in a safe manner!

This year, I have really fallen in love with internet shopping. I really just started to get into it recently. These days, the options are endless, and I can do most of my holiday shopping without having to leave the warmth and comfort of my own home. IÕve been shopping for years and years, and I know how crazy the holidays can be. IÕd just as well stay out of the crowds and the cold and have the nice UPS man bring things my way. Last week, I was waiting for my final packages to come, and thankfully I have received everything on time. The company that shipped my presents even giftwrapped the items for a little extra money. How wonderful is that?

While IÕve enjoyed hanging around the house, I will have to go out to get some holiday supplies and make my appointment with the Miracle Ear Testing Center before too long. However, I am just glad that I avoided the holiday madness by shopping online this year. This might just be a regular thing for me from now on.

Watching Big 12 Championship Game - Go Cornhuskers!

It's that time of year again! It's time to watch College Football Conference Championship Games on satellite tv from http://www.direc4u.com/ and cheer for the home team. Okay, so my home team Texas Longhorns won't be playing in the Big 12 Championship Game this year, but I'm watching anyway and I'm pulling for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. As a Texas Longhorn fan, I just can't pull for Oklahoma! This year may be the last year for the Big 12 Championship Game since they won't have twelve teams in the conference next year. Nebraska comes to the championship game ranked number thirteen in the BCS rankings. Oklahoma is ranked number nine after beating Oklahoma State. So, who do I think has the best chance of winning? The statistics show Oklahoma should win not only because of their higher ranking this year, but because they are 6-1 in the championship games they played in before. I think the Cornhuskers will win though. I believe the Nebraska defense will shut down the Sooners passing game. Nebraska hasn't won the championship game since 1999, but with any luck this will be the year. So, I'll be breaking out the chips and salsa and enjoying a few hours of Big 12 Championship Football before the season is over and college football takes a vacation for a few months.

I love to just take my family riding around in the mini van and go and look at all of our neighbors' Christmas lights. Any time that we go to the movies or out to eat or are just out at night, I take the long way home so that we can go and look at lights.

But we also put up on our lights too. I was online ordering some replacement strands for some of the lighted decorations that we have and that's when I came across this website and read it. After doing that I decided to change over my internet access to that company at home.

Friends Catching Up

My childhood friend who is incidentally working as a nurse in London, and I recently had a chat to catch up with each other. We were both so busy with our respective jobs and family so it was a welcome treat to talk about what’s going on with our lives. She showed me her latest picture taken at the hospital where she currently works. She looks so cute wearing her scrubs so I told her how I liked the way she dressed up on her work. She told me that the scrubs were their hospital uniform and that they were given different scrub sets to wear on their duty. I then told her how nurses today has become so stylish on their hospital uniforms unlike before that you can see white only uniforms on hospitals.

I also showed her my latest picture and she told me that I really looked good but needs to shed some pounds. .. ouch! I assured her that I’m trying to diet even if it’s really hard because I do love to eat a lot! Well, anyway, we had a really good time catching up that we lost track of time. I wish we can get to chat more often. Friends, besides family are the people that matters most to me.

Everyday, she’s asking me about changing the TV channel to Disney to watch Mr. Bean The Cartoon. And when she’s watching you could never interrupt her coz she’s so glued on the tv monitor! I am so happy when I see her laugh at Mr. Bean’s antics coz I can see that she really enjoyed the show so much. I might be one in a million, but I love Christmas ribbon candy. My mom and dad always kept a large bowl filled with ribbon candy during the holiday, and even today I am quiet fond of it. It not only tastes delicious, but makes an excellent centerpiece as the many different colors add charm to the table. It comes in so many different shapes, sizes, and designs, and I love to mix it up with an assortment of all that I can find. My husband enjoys eatting it too, so I know none of it will go to waste!

I was watching the HD satellite TV last night, and guess what I saw? An advertisement for my favorite ribbon candy! I can not purchase any until Thanksgiving is over, but I can not wait! Christmas Shoes For Hannah

So I went to the mall this afternoon to hunt for the perfect children's shoes for my baby Hannah because her older shoes does not really match the dress that I bought recently. You see, I plan to use this dress on Hannah on Christmas Day when we visit some relatives and friends. I want Hannah to dress up beautifully on that special day so it just fits that she also wear the most suitable shoes for her. I am thinking of buying sandals as it is more comfortable for children to wear. Also, Hannah tends to be more picky now on what type of shoes she'll wear, and she likes using sandals more than the usual sneakers or mary janes.

Anyway, my aunt from the States gave Hannah a pair of boots as an early Christmas gift that she sent two weeks ago. It was really cute on Hannah especially when worn on shorts. Though it's still a little bit big on her, I can't wait till it fits her right so she can wear it with shorts and skirts. Too bad it does not match on the dress that she'll wear on Christmas day.

A lot of times, it's a whole lot easier to just go ahead and make your own wrapping paper instead of going out and buying rolls and rolls of it for the holidays. Even though I have a backup roll of store bought wrapping paper, I always try to make my own paper for fun. I've been doing it for a long time. When I was a little girl, I talked my mom into cutting up potatoes and making stamps out of them to wrap up my friends' presents in for Christmas.

Even though that really was a great way to make wrapping paper, I have stamps that I can use now instead of carving potatoes. I like to also use my Clear TV Bundle to look up other ways to come up with prints for homemade wrapping paper. I think that someone has used jsut about everything in the world to come up with a way to make homemade wrapping paper, including toothbrushes and pine needles.

But my favorite way that I've seen people make homemade gift wrap is by taking lace and laying it down on the paper and then spray painting over it to make a pattern. The result looks really consistent and modern, like you bought it that way!

Baby Fashionistas

I've been wanting to buy girl clothes for Hannah from Baby Fashionistas for the longest time but since their shop's location is too far from me, I had no choice but to nix the idea.

Imagine my surprise when I went at Glorietta Makati yesterday and went at the children's clothes section on the 3rd floor to find that there's Baby Fashionistas store there! I asked the saleslady when did the shop opened at Glorietta, and she told me that they just opened last Nov.19!

I was so excited and happy that I fitted Hannah 4 clothes that I liked and eventually I settled for a cute dress with a tutu skirt. It was so cute on Hannah!

Los Angeles Clippers

My favorite team is the Los Angeles Clippers, and I am excited about this season. This is because of the great preseason they had bringing in Blake Griffin back from knee surgery. Blake Griffin is a beast in the paint and he is a jumping jack, and by that I mean he flies. I watch him hustle and rebound and I am filled with this emotion which I want to express as joy but that would not even begin to describe the pit of intense love I feel in my heart when I know that at last the Los Angeles Clippers are going to the championship.

Blake Griffin cannot shoot and has really no offensive game, but that is not necessary when you can jump over seven footers and make them your ideological slaves. Once he leaps out of the building I can only imagine opposing centers will cower in fear, their craven faces staring at blackness as they grimace and close their eyes, hoping for the game to be over so the dunk fest created by Griffin will end with their lives intact. I can only suspect that this Clippers team is capable of running the table, based on their preseason dominance despite the fact that they were only playing at half speed. I know this because I watched every preseason NBA basketball game thanks to my Directv.

A Sincere Love For Reading

I love White Oleander. It's such a tragic story of a mother and daughter that are separated, but it's also the story of a girl that comes of age.

It seems like such a sad story in the beginning. The main character is tossed from one foster home to another, and you really feel bad. At the story progresses, however, you find that the girl is tough. You know that she's capable of anything that is tossed her way, and you find yourself waiting for the next change in her life.

There are so many characters, and the plot changes with every other chapter. It was even made into a movie, but I prefer the book because it covers more than they could ever put into a movie. It's quite a lengthy book, but that was part of the reason that it was appealing. The first time that I picked it up I had no idea that I would become as engrossed as I did. I just assumed that I would read it from time to time and eventually finish it one day. I was totally surprised to finish such a large novel within a week.

Books are my second love; television is my first. I'm watching my satellite TV from www.BestChoiceTV.com/deals.html when I'm not reading. I love watching television shows that themes similar to white Oleander.

A Romantic Honeymoon Getaway

My friend who is based on South Carolina USA, recently got married last month to a wonderful guy she met in the States. Though I was not able to attend her private wedding, I extended my best wishes to her and her husband prior her wedding. I asked her where they would spend their honeymoon and she proudly told me that her husband booked their accommodation months in advance at a Myrtle Beach hotel because she loves spending time at the beach and he also wants to play a few rounds of golf while they were there. I was very excited for both of them and promised to check back on them again after their honeymoon.

Cousins Reunion

I was so happy that Adriel & Dana gets to spend the night in our house finally! It's been two months since they slept here in our house with their mom. Since they moved to another house, I seldom sees them and I always get so excited everytime Hannah, Adriel and Dana gets to spend some time together. Hannah doesn't have any playmates, so having them stay in our home will make her happy. The last time they got together was when they went trick or treat and I saw how happy Hannah was when she's with her cousins.

I just hope Adriel and Dana gets to visit us more often especially now that the holidays is fast approaching. Anyways, I am planning on going to Enchanted Kingdom with all of us for a little bit of bonding time. I really wish it would push through!

When I was a little girl, I was home schooled most of the years I was in school. Many kids don't know what home schooling is like but I actually really enjoyed it. We would work about four to five hours a day and because we were at home, there was never any homework. I guess most kids would have been jealous. But there were certain things I missed out on. Like the amount of socializing a kid has when they go to school, prom, things of that nature.

Some kids might even think that I never got out of the house just because I was home schooled. But that is definitely not true. We used to always go on field trips as a home schooling group. My home schooling group and I actually made a trip to the aquarium one year. The entire experience was amazing. I remember going with my best friend to gawk at all of the beautiful fish.

The aquarium also had a petting section where you could actually touch a starfish or other crustacean. I wasn't too keen on touching the crabs since I'm not a big fan of their claws. A few years ago, I made another trip to the same aquarium I had gone to as a kid. Before I left for the aquarium, I set my home systems ADT security alarm. And let me tell you that the aquarium was exactly like I remembered! I will definitely be going there again.

My niece is getting ready to turn 10 years old and I'm the cool aunt so I've been trying to figure out exactly what I could get her for her birthday. Now she loves to read, but sometimes it's really hard to find books for her to read because it seems like she's read all of them already!

Then I got thinking about the book series the Baby Sitters Club and decided that I was going to buy her the set of the new books. So I found them online with my clear wireless internet and had them shipped to my house.

I think that the Babysitters club book series is age appropriate for 10 year old girls and not too risquŽ like some other books that may be aimed at girls that age really are now a days. I had thought about giving her the book series of Gossip Girl because I really like that show. But then I remembered that sheÕs only 10 and thought a lot of that stuff is almost too adult for me on that show.

One of my sons favorite television shows to watch is the Wonder Pets. In this show three little animals attempt to save another animals that calls them for help. The three wonder pets include Linny, Tuck, and Ming-Ming. Each and every episode they get in their flying boat and go to the rescue of an animal that calls them.

Linny is the leader of the wonder Pets. Ming-Ming is the friendly duckling and Tuck is the turtle. My son loves all the characters and loves to sing the song that they sing. The Wonder pets usually break out into singing when they are on the way to saving and animal, or on the way back. They also sing when they have an idea on how to save the animal. It's a really great show. Very family friendly and it teaches my son the value of helping others.

The Wonder Pets is a great show and my son even wakes me up if I am sleeping and an episode comes on. I think he knows I enjoy it has much as he does. Whenever the Wonder Pets is on, we are watching it on our satellite tv packages. It's a great children's show.

Hannah As Queen Bee

So we went first at SM MOA with Botchok and the Cabrera family for a quick trick or treat since I know that there will be more children and candies at shops at MOA and I was right! For less than an hour Hannah had candies and toys but thhe downside is, I easily got tired from roaming around the mall following Hannah. After our brief stint at MOA we then proceeded at SM Bacoor in the afternoon to join Adriel and Dana for their trick or treat there. The cousins got so excited seeing each other! Well unlike Hannah's candy treats at MOA, the siblings only got a handful of candies. I just shared with them what Hannah got from MOA so all of them went home happy with the candy treats that they got. Anyway, here are their Halloween costumes!

Halloween Plans

So Halloween is just around the corner! Two days from now, Hannah will be able to wear the Halloween costume my Tita Cleo bought from the States! I am the most excited coz it's super cute and it fits well on Hannah. I'm just not too fond on her headband coz it keeps on falling from her head. I think I'm gonna put some hair pins to secure it on her head.

By the way, her costume's gonna be a yellow bee which kinda looked like the lead character from the Bee Movie! She's so cute when I tried to fit it into her. I just wish Hannah would have a great time this Sunday but I am pretty sure she will. She always have good time when she's with Mommy . . . :)

Every woman in this world dreams of receiving a diamond engagement ring from the man she loves. It just goes to show how much he is willing to spend the rest of his life with you. When my husband gave me an engagement ring, I was thrilled and excited for a new journey that both of us will take and that is marriage. I didn't know that he's been scouting engagement ring shops all over the town so I was caught by surprise when he asked me to marry him. Obviously I said yes and we immediately planned the wedding after our engagement.

I remembered being a hands on bride-to-be when we were planning our wedding. Every detail counted from the wedding singer to the design of my wedding gown, it was all my personal choice. However when we were shopping for wedding rings, my husband has the final say because he knows more about choosing the best ring for both of us.

As always, there's nothing such as a perfect wedding. I remembered not all of my wishes for my wedding came true, but I just am so happy that I shared that special day with all my loved ones and friends and it was indeed a truly memorable experience worthy to share with my daughter when she grows up.

My favorite reality show is Kate Plus 8 (formerly Jon and Kate Plus 8). I know they're going through a lot right now, and I've had several arguments with friends and family regarding the content of the show and whether it's exploitative. But I just can't stop watching it! The kids are adorable and their frustrations and daily battles are so real. I've been a faithful viewer for years, I've watched the kids grow up like they're my own. I feel like extended family. It's second nature to grab a bowl of popcorn and chill out in front of DirecTV to join them in their latest adventure or family crisis. Above all, I'm rooting for them - rooting for them to get through their problems and stick through everything as a family. I feel like, if they can't make it, then what hope do the rest of us have?

They wouldn't recognize me in the street, but I like to send good karma their way and they've got at least one person in their corner.

I bought the kids' Halloween costumes online the past two years. However, Jason turned four this year and had lots of big ideas about what he wanted to dress up as, so I decided we would buy the costumes in-store. I knew that I wanted to dress Emma as a pumpkin, but Jason couldn't narrow down his list of choices. So yesterday afternoon I got Jason and Emma dressed, grabbed Emma's diaper bag, and then headed out the door. Dan is out of town for two more days on his business conference, so I made sure to set the home security alarm from SecurityChoice.com before we left. We first went to the costume shop that recently opened up in town. They had a great selection of costumes, but they were really geared more towards adults. We left the store without buying anything and headed to Party City. As you can probably imagine, the place was packed! There were children and parents everywhere you turned. I found an adorable baby pumpkin costume for Emma and it was even marked forty percent off! Jason decided he wanted to dress up as either a doctor or a ninja. Ninja ended up winning because the costume came in red, his favorite color. He tried on the costume and it fit well, so we went to checkout and paid for the costumes.

My favorite children's Halloween program is "Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin." In the show, Charles Schultz's charming character Linus waits in the pumpkin patch all night, waiting for the Great Pumpkin to appear. He even gets Sally, Charlie Brown's little sister, into the game by convincing her to wait with him. She ends up angry at the end of the night when the Great Pumpkin doesn't appear and she has missed all the parties and trick-or-treating. I also love to watch Snoopy as he pulls his antics throughout the show, even making his own appearance in the pumpkin patch.

I love to watch "Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin" on satellite TV from www.CannonSatellite.com. If I happen to miss its showing on one channel, I have a variety of others that I can locate it on. This way I can catch my favorite holiday show each year without worrying about missing it. Also, I can reminisce when I was younger, anxiously waiting it come on before my favorite holiday of the year. It always fired up my imagination, and I have carried a love of The Peanuts to this day.

A Book For Hannah & Me

I just discovered bargain books for sale aside from Booksale and that is Books For Less at SM Mall Of Asia. We went at SM MOA later this afternoon and my eyes went big when I saw this store. I've been going to MOA many times but I always overlook this store. So I scanned the place to look for a book for Hannah and got really excited when I found "The Velveteen Rabbit" which I've been trying to find at Booksale for a couple of times already. It was a sale for only P169 and I immediately bought the only copy there.

Then when I was about to leave the store, my eye caught a book named "Love in the time of Cholera" which I recalled on the John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale movie, "Serendipity". I've been wanting to read this book but somewhat always forgot to buy a copy. So I also bought it for only P198. Unlike "The Velveteen Rabbit" which still has an almost new condition, this book already has a sign of wear but that's not a problem for me. As long as the pages are complete and I can still read it, it's all ok! Now I'm excited to read the books for me and for Hannah!

Kindergarten Camp Out

At the beginning of the school year the kindergartners have a camp out. I have helped both my nine year old and my seven year old with this adventure. This year my final child headed off to kindergarten and I got to help out with her camping day as well. By this time most of the parents know me as well as the teachers. I'm kind of a local hero because I've mastered how to set up nearly every tent and know the best course of action for the events.

For each of the trips I'd get all my camping gear ready and set the alarm (click here for more information on alarm systems) before heading off to school. It's setting up tents in the football field behind the school. I suppose it's not really camping but the kids sure feel like it is. We have edible fire that is made of chocolate for the logs and candy corn for the flames. My personal specialty is the corn husk dolls. I can make one in about seven minutes and what's even more impressive is that I have had some of the kindergartners make very impressive dolls on their own. That was my final camp out for my children but I might go back and help again next year. I wouldn't want to let my unique set of skills go to waste.

Today, it seems like there isn't much on that we can watch as a family. This Fall, a new show is coming out that I am hoping we will all be able to hang out and watch together in front of the satellite tv through TVByDirect.com. No Ordinary Family is about a family that goes on a vacation together and comes back with some kind of super powers. One is strong, one is fast, one can read minds and the other one is really smart. It makes me think of the animated movie The Incredibles.

We are all going to check out the first episode together and I can't wait. There are so many things that we can't let the kids watch and I am hoping that this is something that I will be appropriate. I am sure that it will have its share of language and even some violence, but there are just some other things that I don't want the kids to see. Also, it seems like a show that might have some type of message about value and integrity.

From what I have read, the characters sound interesting and I don't think it is going to be predictable as some people have said. When it comes to families, you just never know what will happen.

Have you ever looked at your family and thought man, this could be a sitcom? One of my favorite television sitcoms right now is Modern Family. Modern Family is one of the hottest new shows in television and after watching this show you will easily see why. My career requires me to work lots of hours and when I come home to watch my direct tv indian channels, it's disheartening when you can't find anything to watch. When I discovered Modern Family I was laughing hysterically through the whole show and immediately was addicted.

Modern Family is a show based on three very different family units, who are all related. The families are funny and witty, and often getting into some sort of trouble. It showcases many different experiences that every encounters on a daily basis. It's not your typical family sitcom with the mom, dad, and 2.5 children. This show displays blended families, biracial families, homosexual families, and all the things that actual families experience. With Modern Family you can truly relate to what is happening.

I grew up in a family that I thought was not like other families. When watching Modern Family I can see that every family has things that make them unlike any other family. This is what makes every family special and one of a kind, the way it should be.

Raising A Child Just Got Funnier

It's always interesting to see where a writer will go when scripting a series involving parenting. Having three young children myself, I know how I feel about certain issues and the way I wish to raise my children. So when there is a different perspective on how someone copes with and takes care of a child then I am intrigued. This is why I am interested to see the new show Raising Hope on Fox this fall.
This comedy is from the same creator of the hit show My Name is Earl, Greg Garcia. In this show a real moronic goof, Jimmy Chance, unexpectedly finds out that he has a little baby named Hope. He finds this out when she is left at his door and he has no choice but to take her in. However, since he is still living at home with his parents, Jimmy is in no position to take in a small child like this. Plus, his coarse parents don't want another baby in the house. Feeling the need to fulfill his fatherly role Jimmy decides to raise Hope and be a good dad. This comedy is far from the norm and pushes the limits with some of the topics and issues that are brought up. But the real meaning and heart of the story lies behind the crude humor and to the point, snappy dialogue.
This show doesn't look like the normal family programs that have been redone, and could be entertaining in it's own uniqueness. I am interested to see where they go with this and how far the really do test their boundaries on Direct TV.

Nido Jr. for Hannah!

I've been wanting to change Hannah's milk from GPA to another one since she's been having an on and off bout with constipation for the longest time. I've tried Lactum but she doesn't like it. Now, after her last can of GPA, I thought well now's the right time to change her milk. So I bought the smallest box of Nido Jr. to see if she would like it and guess what? She loved it! Wow, now I can breathe a big sigh of relief since she already pooed without much difficulty unlike before were we had to insert a suppository on her bottom just so she could poo.

Besides the Nido Jr. that I bought her, I also bought Nestle fresh milk which she would drink come breakfast time. I tried to let her drink Nestle fresh milk last Saturday and she also likes it a lot. The reason I've decided to let Hannah drink fresh milk is because I've read that children over 2 years of age should be given low fat(reduced) milk which has 1 to 2% fat. But milk should be limited by taking not less than 375mls of milk and not more than 600mls because this is only one part of what toddlers eat and they still need to eat other types of solid foods too. I'm just fortunate that Hannah's not a picky eater and she likes eating mostly rice, chicken, pastas, bread and biscuits. I also let her drink juice once in awhile especially during snack time.

I hope Hannah would continue to become healthy and strong especially when she starts her pre-school next year.

Family holiday

Getting the whole family together is difficult unless it revolves around sports. Sadly, most of our schedules don't line up when it comes to holidays but they just magically work out when it comes to going to football games at the college most of us attended. Even though a few of our relatives have gone to different schools, family allegiance is tied along with the school.

When we all got together for the first ball game, my great aunt flew in from NYC where she lives. I hadn't seen her in a while so I was asking her about what's new in her life. She told me about her recent visit to one of the Miracle Ear centers in New York. Then my dad heard her talking about it his recent visit to Miracle Ear Florida. Then my uncle talked about getting Miracle ear hearing aids in Vermont. And our tailgate turned into a chat about hearing aids.
But I guess strange stuff like that happens when that's the only time you see your family each year.

Baby Abandoned on Gulf Air

I was really shocked and saddened by the news that a mother had abandoned her new born baby on a flight from Bahrain to Manila. I'm close to tears as I watched this beautiful angel on the arms of strangers instead of his own mother. It was found out that he was discovered by a security personnel on an airplane trash bag covered with blood and wrapped in tissue paper. I am not to judge anyone but I don't know what went through the minds of his mother when she decided to left her new born son on a trash bag not knowing if she left him there for dead or what.

Temporarily the baby is named George Francis, based on Gulf Air’s airline code “GF” and is under the care of the nurses and social workers until his mother is found. After 3 months and his mother is not found, he will be put up for adoption. I just hoped that he will find the unconditional love that he never got from his mother to the family that is willing to adopt him. May God bless George Francis, he is truly a miracle baby!

Our Crocs Has Arrived!

At last the most awaited Crocs for me and Hannah has already arrived from the US! I bought this Crocs from Amazon then had it delivered from my co-worker's place when he had a training in the US. Well he just got back home 2 or 3 days ago and we met up to pick up the shoes and other stuff I bought online earlier this day. I was so happy when I tried my shoes coz it's really comfortable. Hannah's shoes was really cute too but I wished I ordered a Size7 instead of a 6 because it already fits her and there's no more allowance when her feet becomes bigger.

Now I can't wait to wear our shoes and get to try it outside. Crocs shoes are really comfortable to wear and I am glad I bought it in the US instead of here coz it's A LOT cheaper there than here in the Philippines.

I bought Hannah a book(as usual) from Book Sale and guess what? I found "Baby Einstein: ABCs of Art Discovery Cards" at such a steal price of only P250! It was a group of 26 flash cards of ABC's with full-color works of art. I really love it and I can't wait for me to use it for Hannah. I searched for its price in the internet and found that its price ranges from $15.49-S19.99 which when you convert it to PHP- it's P697.05-P899.55). What a big steal! I really love buying books for Hannah(and now flash cards) at Book Sale because of very cheap learning books that I see there. Can't wait to go there again to find another set of quality yet affordable books for my Hannah.

More Family Movies

I love going to the movies! What's even better is that my kids and husband love going too, and that means I get to go even more. Now sometimes I do need that mommy and daddy time to go see a new movie at the theater, but the rest of the time we like to spend movie time together as a family. It does get to be somewhat difficult though if there are no family movies available or we have seen them all. I have actually seen a big increase in the child oriented movies out there, so this gives us the chance to get out with the kids like we want. We just make sure that they are suitable for a 9 year old and a 3 year old while at the same time not boring us to tears!

At this time, we get out at least once a week to see a movie; provided there are movies the whole family can see. And depending on where the movie we want to see is playing, we will either go to the new theater at River Ridge Mall-Regal 14 or at the discount theater on Candlers Mt. Rd-Cinemark Movies 10. Once we agree on the movie to watch, we get ready together to get out the door even faster. The hubby gets the cash ready, the kids pick out a toy for the ride, and I set the adt security houston for the house once we are all at the door. Time to see a movie!

Two shows that are very popular in the US right now are "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scrubs" which both are a medical drama and comedy series respectively that deals with the interns, doctors and nurses' lives in the fictional hospital they're working in. Whenever I watch both shows, I can't help but notice the cute and colorful cherokee uniforms they're wearing. Gone are the days when nurses and doctors wear boring white nurses and doctors scrubs all the time! Whenever you go to a hospital now you'll see different styles of medical scrub caps and nursing uniforms that each compliment the wearer's looks.

Now if you think this cute medical scrubs are only for nurses and doctors, you are wrong because there are also professional and classic looking vet scrubs that are being used by veterinarians. Well I think people working on medical field are really lucky they get to wear hip, comfortable and most of all stylish looking clothes for their work.

My Birthday Is Fast Approaching

So my 38th Birthday comes this 8th of September and I'm still not quite sure where I'm gonna spend it. The original plan is, we're going to Cebu with my sister and her kids. But since her husband is coming home on Sept.5 they may not be able to join us(me, Hannah and Ness). So the 2nd option is to go to Baguio City with Nanay, Sha, etc… It's gonna be a lot expensive if we're gonna push through with that so I'm still thinking if Baguio is a nice choice since I really have a budget for this out of town trip. Lastly, Tagaytay also came up as an alternative. Hmm, I really don't know up to now, just hope I can decide soon.. Hope before September comes...

When I found out I was pregnant, I didn't have a clue about how to take care of a baby. I decided to turn to the Internet to learn just what to expect. Preparing for a new baby online was a good decision for me.

I was able to find out what baby products were must-have items. If you take a tour of any baby section of a store, it can be overwhelming. I used the Internet to learn just what products you really needed and which ones you could do without.

By using our clear wimax and DirecTV, I learned more about baby proofing our home. I bought several products like baby gates and table bumpers that really helped once our baby girl was mobile. We also installed cabinet locks and electrical outlet covers.

Although I've made my fair share of calls to the pediatrician, it helped to be able to search for some answers online. When my daughter had a bad case of diaper rash, a friend of mine told me of a homemade formula her doctor had given her. I forgot the details but was able to search the Internet to find the instructions. The homemade diaper rash cream worked fast. The Internet has been a wonderful tool in both preparing for a baby and taking care of a baby.

About now is the time of the year that I usually start planning what I’m going to be for Halloween. As you can probably guess, it’s my favorite holiday. It always has been. That’s why my family always hosts a big Halloween with all our friends each year that gives us grownups an excuse to dress up. Normally this is the time that I also start watching as many horror movies as I can find.

Last year I had to choose a costume that would let me wear a wig to hide my old big hearing aid, so I got a mullet wig and dressed up like a rock band roadie. But this year I won’t have to worry about that. I just moved a couple of months ago, but before that I went to miracle ear chicago to learn about some less obvious hearing aid options. After I moved here, I visited miracle ear sacramento and got the small hearing aids I wear now.

I told my sister about them and she went and got some similar ones from miracle ear philadelphia, where she lives.

As for a costume, I’m leaning towards Mario and asking our teenage son to dress up as Luigi with me.

I can not believe it is that time again to go shopping for back to school supplies. My husband and I have decided to split the shopping up into a 2 day ordeal. The first day we will go shopping for our 2 girls, of course they will be with us. They are ages 11 and 16. We will take them to the mall and let them shop at their favorite store to buy clothes and shoes. I have given them a limit to spend. I encouraged them to look for stores that are offering discounts especially the buy one get one free items. That way they can have extra money for something else they would really like to have. In our neighborhood already this year we have had a couple of break-ins and my husband and I will be making sure that we set our security choice home securitysystem before we go shopping for school supplies this year.

The girls love to go to Hot Topic at the mall to purchase their school clothes. After our long shopping day we will go have dinner. And the next day is when we will go to Wal-mart and CVS for purchasing school supplies. I will need to buy pens and pencils, note book paper, note books, calculators, erasers, glue. Then my shopping is complete.

The Cheesecake Factory is my favorite place to eat. I never pass up a chance to eat there. I usually look at their menu online before we leave so I have an idea of what I want to eat. We're usually there for hours!

I love the ambiance of this place. It's dimly lit so it gives you a romantic feel but it is totally fine for dining with family or friends! The atmosphere really puts you in a happy place. The food is absolutely wonderful. They have some signature dishes that would blow your mind. My favorite, by far, is the Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya. If that's not your thing, they do serve other pasta dishes, burgers, pork chops, and they even serve brunch on Sundays.

Obviously they are known for their cheesecake and they don't skim on that! There are probably 20-30 kinds of cheesecake. We usually leave out with 3 or 4 different slices. The prices are good, the servings are huge, and you can't beat the customer service there. Definitely check this place out when you can!

Four Christmases For Entertainment

I'm not a fan of Vince Vaughn and I had no desire to see the movie Four Christmases. But when my wife spotted it on Direct tv, I knew I was in for the long haul. I actually ended up being pleasantly surprised. Not only was Vince Vaughn great in it, but so was Reese Witherspoon. The concept of the movie was pretty cool. They wanted to go to Fiji, but their flights got cancelled and they had to go visit their four families. There are four families to visit because both of their parents are divorced. The first family is his dad's house. This scene offers childish and predictable humor, but it's still enjoyable for some reason. The following scene is at her mother's house, which is probably the best scene of all four. A lot comes out from her past and this makes for some interesting moments. Then they travel to his mother's house, where his former best friend married his mother. You can only imagine what goes on here. I won't ruin it for you. The last scene is her father's house. This is not a humorous scene, but a touching one, which is often the case for a romantic comedy.

The ending of Four Christmases was done well. His return to her father's house after an argument was obvious. However, his dialogue during that scene is perfect. Overall, this movie is well worth seeing.

I have never spent so much time planning a vacation in my life. The funny thing is that I really enjoyed the experience. For some reason, I love looking at homes and cabins that are for rent, even if I can't afford them. In this case, I went on to my rural internet service in Logan UT and began a search for rental homes on Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. I chose this location because it's exactly halfway between where me and my sister live - a 3.5 hour drive for each of us. There were many incredible homes for rent right on the lake. And the amenities were very impressive. They included hot tubs, kayaks, outdoor pools, porches, and gazebos. In all, they were beautiful. They were even affordable. The problem was that I began my search too late.

When I started looking for a place for my sister's family and my family to meet, it was already late March. By then, all the good rental properties on the lake were reserved. There were a few less desirable options, but who wants to spend their money on something like that? I continued trying to find something that I missed earlier or something that opened up, but no luck. After three days of research using satellite internet in Utah, I finally decided that we weren't going to meet in Glen Canyon. We ended up in a completely different state, but it was still fun to do the research.

Hannah's 2nd Birthday Party!

At last Hannah's was already finished and was successfullu attended by our family and friends. We celebrated it outside our house and though it rained hard a few hours before our party, the rain stopped just in time to start the party. I hired a clown which also did some magic tricks to the delight of the kids. My Nanay, Tita Inday, Nora and Aling Vivian helped each other cooked the delicious meals we served our guests. As one of 10 children, I have the task of keeping all of us connected and in touch all across the country. While four of us all still live in our home town, the other six live in Florida, Indiana, Arizona and Illinois. The best way I have found to communicate with all of them is by using a simple e-mail group that I set up.

Since we all have easy internet access, I use my satellite internet laptop card to send and receive e-mail from the whole group no matter where I am. By setting up a group called My Family, I added all nine of my other siblings to the group. I even added myself so I get a copy of everything in my inbox. By adding myself it also helps everyone else just use the same group from the To: field to respond or forward to everyone including me.

While some of my friends think that there are better ways to communicate with the latest technology, hughes net packages seems to suit us just fine. Because we rarely can all meet at the same time anyway we seldom use phone calls or video conferences. By using e-mail we can all read the information and respond on our own time frame. Plus e-mail still allows us to send photos and videos that we can see and listen to.

If you are trying to communicate with a group with several or many members across the country, I suggest you start with an e-mail group and go from there.

Hannah's 2nd Birthday!

Well yesterday my Hannah celebrated her 2nd birthday with a little celebration in our house with just the whole family. I bought a cake from Cakes & Memories and also ice cream from Selecta while my mother cooked spaghetti, lumpiang togue and her specialty, pata tim. The pata tim was yummy as always and we all raved about this delicious choco caramel cake from Cakes & Memories. I also ordered another cake from them(flavor is choco vanilla) for the birthday party that I will throw for Hannah this Saturday. I also hope it tastes good as the choco caramel.

I always thank the Lord for Hannah. Of all the blessings He gave me Hannah is the most precious one. And as I go with life changing decisions, it's Hannah I always think of. I just wish for her to be a good daughter and a good Christian as she grows. I love you Hannah!

Somehow my television set is always set to some kind of cooking show. I couldn't cook to save my life, not even toast. Actually, toast would turn quickly to charcoal no matter how much butter I put on it. Even boiling water was an effort for me.

About a year ago, I sat down for about an hour a day and watched cooking shows on our direct tv packages. I actually started watching them, really watching. Taking notes, looking up what words meant and really listening instead of just drooling over the food. I learned how to clean my own fresh caught fish, fillet, chop, sauté, and even bake!

No longer was I burning toast and eating microwave dinners, I had grabbed my cooking potential by the horns and I was going to use it!

My friends quickly noticed my change and were cautious about accepting any invited over to my house, knowing that they would be asked to try a new recipe. Honestly, at the beginning, those recipes were awful. But I did have the skills down, practice makes perfect after all.

I can now proudly say that I host dinner parties at my house and cook everything myself. A few of my friends have even asked me to help teach them how to cook! I am always sharing my recipes and bringing baked goods into the office. Life is sweet, like my desserts.

So I set up my home to make me feel secure. I totally understand that that if someone really wants to get in, they can. But I took it upon myself to set things up to make it more difficult.

I have timers on my lights, and I reset the timer every 7-10 days. From what I’ve learned you’ll be more secure if it’s difficult to figure out your routine. The problem there is I leave for work at the same time every day. But my building has two entrances, so I don’t use the same one every morning when I leave. Maybe I’ll use the side entrance for two days in a row. Then I’ll use the front entrance for a day or two. I mix it up.

There are no pets allowed in these condos. My peace of mind comes from my home security alarm from www.securitychoice.com. The maintenance team has a code that I set that’s just for them. So I know when they’ve been here. They’re a good bunch, but having a separate code for them is an added layer of security as far as I’m concerned.

The neighbors here are great here. I’ve been trying to convince the couple next door that light timers are essential, but they think it’s silly. And, maybe it is. But it makes me feel better. So I’m sticking with it.

It's been two weeks that Hannah is attending her summer school at Busy Thinkers Day Care Center and based on what I see, she really enjoys her summer class with the other kids. Basically what they do on a day to day basis are singing and dancing, story-telling, coloring, puzzle solving, and a lot more! Her teacher is really nice to all the kids and may I say very patient too! I only enrolled her for one month so 2 more weeks and it's already finished. I am now thinking if I should enroll her this coming June on a toddler class though I think it's tooearly for Hannah to go to school.

Summer School

Just want you to know that Hannah will attend a summer school at Busy Thinkers Pre-School near our subdivision this April 5 with her cousin Adriel! The school accepts toddlers as young as 2 years old and since Hannah is almost 2(she's turning 1 year and 9 months this April), I decided to enroll her so she could socialize with the other kids. I'm really excited coz I want her to mingle with other kids and enjoy her summer as well. Will let you know how it was after her first day.

Surviving Mesothelioma Cancer

When my father died 8 years ago due to liver cancer, I was devastated and thought that if only he took care of his health or if only we detected it earlier and so on and so forth, but it was too late. I was exposed to the dangers of cancer because of my father's sickness and vowed to take care of my body and health to reduce the risks of cancer. A few days ago, I came across a moving story about a cancer patient named Paul Kraus who survived Mesothelioma Cancer because of his will to survive and continues to thrive for a better life despite his cancer. His cancer was caused by exposing himself with asbestos(a group of minerals that take the form of tiny fibers) when he was younger. But despite him having this rare cancer, he didn't gave up and researched for other methods or alternative treatments that will help him prolong his life. I was really touched by his patience in understanding his sickness. If it were not him, the person may undergone depression and gave up on life completely.

Twelve years after he was first diagnosed with Mesothelioma Cancer and was thought of having a few months to live, he is still alive and yes, kicking! And now, it is really unselfish of him to share his experiences on a book which is absolutely free for a limited time. I hoped my father and our family were able to read it, my father would certainly had a different outlook in life after his cancer. But there are still others who will benefit on reading this inspirational book from Paul Kraus.

Hannah's 2nd Birthday Preps

So I'm officially starting to plan for Hannah's 2nd birthday this July. The first thing that I did was to order a birthday guestbook for the guests to write their wishes for the birthday girl. I ordered it at Printed Matter at Glorietta Makati and it was so affordable! for a price of P280 I already had a hardbound guestbook with a personalised pic of her on the cover. I'll get the finish product next week. Can't wait!

Now, this April, I'll talk with the caterer and balloon supplier and will deposit a down payment. Boy, I'm gonna get busy on the coming months huh?

Quick Car Fix

My aunt, who is based on California, and I chatted yesterday via webcam and she showed me the beautiful dress which she is planning to give to my baby Hannah. She told me, they just went in Los Angeles last weekend to visit another of our relative and saw the dress on one of the stores there. They had a wonderful weekend there but unfortunately on their way home, their car broke down and needed a quick fix. Good thing, there's an available Los Angeles auto repair shop nearby and the mechanic, which is really helpful and knowlegeable on their job, had quickly solved the car problem which incidentally is a damaged head gasket that needs to be replaced.

She later said that they were now thinking on buying a new car preferably an SUV like Ford Explorer which is more reliable and dependable and is smooth when driving. Buying a new car is more preferable if you always encounter car trouble, right?

Swimming at Island Cove!

we just went at Island Cove last monday and stayed there for one night with my sister and her kids and the nannies. we had a wonderful time at the swimming pool especially the kids but not so much on their animal zoo. there's nothing much to see since they're just lying on their respective cages but i did held a baby crocodile which almost freaked me out!

their foods are waay too expensive! imagine eating a pancit canton which is good for 2 but the price is already P230! their halo-halo which is nothing special is alreay P100. i almost had a heart attack with the prices they had! but there's really nothing that we can do since the resort doesn't allow bringing of food so you don't have any choice but to eat there :(

We're finally deciding on getting a car and I am so excited to learn how to drive! I already got my driver's license and we just have to wait for the car to arrive. So in preparation I asked my sister whose in the USA right now for any car tips which she might be willing to share with me. She said that it's very important to have our car always in good condition, take extra care and have it checked up once in awhile. She said that if there's a problem with her car, she always goes to her trusted San Francisco auto repair mechanic as they are very professional and takes good care of their clients there. In addition, she also advised me to follow timing belt maintenance and to replace it in regular intervals as the belt can get broken overtime and can result to severe damage to the car engine.

Now I can't wait for our dream car which is the honda accord, to arrive! I am a busy bee nowadays searching for tips and reviews as well as common problems I might encounter about the car. It would surely help me prepare in advance what to do in case I encounter such problem in the future.

Hay... it's summertime once again here in the Philippines and I really am not very comfortable about the weather since I'm always hot and sweaty! .. for my baby Hannah. it's been quite awhile that i haven't updated my blog coz of personal problems i've encountered and i must admit that there comes a time that i just wanna disappear forever to escape my problems! but thinking about this little child who always gives me her never ending hugs and kisses whenever possible, calling me "mommy" everytime i diasappear on her sight, just being sweet on her simple ways, just makes me wanna embrace life once more. sure problems will never go away, once you solve one here comes another. just like what i thought about the recent personal problem which was somewhat solved last year but re-appeared once again. i was thinking, how could i do this all alone? but i guess, it's also a test of how i trust God completely into my life. so like i always say, i live it all up to Him. He will never leave me and hannah alone just like what he did to us...

Bonding time at ATC

Went at Alabang Town Center last Sunday after church with Hannah and my sister and her family. We went at Rustan's where there were lots of toys which kinda overwhemed the kids. I bought her havaiana's slippers which were on sale and there was this toy(a puppy inside a cage) which caught Hannah's attention and she wouldn't let it go so I have no choice but to buy it for her. There was a scheduled Santa Clause's appearance inside Rustan's in the afternoon at 4PM so we waited at Starbucks to wait and have our picture taken with Santa. Come 4PM, we proceeded again at Rustan's and Santa was right there already. But Hannah was so afraid of Santa that I have to carry her and she couldn't stop crying until we finished our picture taken. Adriel was also so afraid that he would not want to be near him. Haay those kids talaga!

We went home at around 7PM, tired but happy overall that we get to take the kids to the mall to enjoy themselves.

I remembered, after I got engaged to my husband, I was practically the only one who planned our wedding from day 1 and would you believe that the very first bridal accessory I bought was…. bridal shoes. Yes it's true! I was very excited that time and the first thing I thought about which accessory to buy for my wedding was I gotta have my own bridal shoes! The one requirement that I would want for my shoes is that it should be comfortable and really beautiful. I wanted a closed-toe shoe which doesn't have a very high heel and has some touch of simplicity on it. But since I am a practical person, I don’t really want to buy a very expensive one that I would only wore once, I had a hard time finding the particular style that I want which also fits my budget. I remembered, I almost looked on every part of the store and ready to give up until I found what I was looking for, and it was perfect!

Since there would be only one wedding for every bride(on most instances) I suggest for every bride-to-be out there to carefully think what they want for their wedding. Every detail, every aspect is very important so do not rush things and settle for the second best. I was very happy with the birdal shoe that I chose because it works perfectly with my wedding dress. When I was still studying, one of the subjects that I really had a hard time was Math specifically Algebra. I just don’t understand quite enough solving formulas and math word problems with computations using letters or symbols. I remembered really having a hard time passing that subject. I've been brushing Hannah's teeth religiously every day and I'm so happy that as of current, she has a good set of teeth. Although come brushing time, Hannah always throws a tantrum and doesn't want me to brush her teeth.

Now I'm planning to have an appointment on a pedia-dentist to have her teeth checked coz I might be missing important things when it comes on her teeth. I don’t want Hannah to have bad set of teeth like some of the children I saw. Coz I believe that no matter how cute a kid is, if he or she has bad teeth it is still a major turned off! Not to the kid themselves, but to the parents coz they don't value oral hygiene to their child/ren.

I opened a bank account for Hannah about a week ago. I already planned about it when she was a few months old and I always forget about it until I finally did it when it was my off duty and I had a spare time to go to the bank.

Lamps - A Good Home Accessory

Sometimes at night, it's just hard to check on Hannah when our room's very dark. She has been sleeping beside me since she was born and before I had a night light so that I could check on her once in awhile especially if it's feeding time. But ever since she's been sleeping through the night, I already removed our night light.

But now I've been thinking of buying a lamp again for our room. I am a book worm so most nights you can catch me reading a good book, but the problem is even if I am still reading a book I have to turn off the light coz Hannah's already sleeping. So now I wanted to buy a desk lamp which will be installed beside our bed and that is not so hard on my eyes when I am reading and at the same time will not disturb Hannah from her good sleep.

Another light that I want to install on our home is a low voltage lamp which I think will be great on our hanged family picture on our stairway. That will definitely highlight our picture and will surely gets noticed by our guests. I just had this idea that it will look great on our house. So what do you think? Well for me, I think it's time to add those accessories to our home!

My Beautiful Baby Updates

Hannah is growing up so fast! She's starting to walk though she's somewhat afraid to walk on her own as she still wants to hold my hand when walking. A lot of her old clothes and shoes were now given to her cousin Dana coz it won't fit her anymore. Just yesterday, my aunt Cleo gave her another set of dresses which came from the US and it was all very beautiful. Her dad also gave her a lot of clothes so basically there's a whole bunch of clothes now on her closet waiting to be worn.

I also started giving her a toothbrush with bristles and a toothpaste without flouride so she can now become familiar with brushing her teeth. I really want Hannah to have this pearly white teeth so sometimes I am annoyed with my sister when she gives Hannah chocolates or candies coz I don't want her to have bad teeth at all!

Hannah also imitates words coming from everyone's mouth! She can now pronounce words like, "aah", "bye", "hi", "huh", "babi" as in jollibee, "che", "mam" as in mommy and a whole lot more!

With regards to watching cartoons, she loves watching "Yo Gabba Gabba", "HI-5" and "Dora The Explorer" at Nick Jr. She can now easily identify Dora, Pooh, Strawberry Shortcake and Barbie.

Hmm, what else? Oh the most important milestone right now is, when I say I love you to her, she replies with "BABU" to me.... aaawww... isn't she sweet?

Strawberry Shortcake doll

Hannah now enjoys playing with her toys and also her dolls. She has a total of 6 dolls but she often plays with either her Dora doll which she received on her last birthday and Strawberry Shortcake doll which I gave her a few months ago. I let her sometimes play with her Barbie doll but since I always caught her chewing Barbie's head and endlessly poking Barbie's eyes, I thought maybe when she turns 3 or 4 that would be the right time to let her play with her Barbie :)

Hiking is an Exercise

Just a few months ago, I was invited on a hiking trip by my co-workers but I decided not to go to since I know that there are proper hiking apparel and footwear that needs to be used and I don’t have any one of those. According to those who had an experience on mountaineering, it tends to get very cold on top of the mountain so you will need a very thick jacket. Aside from being physically fit, you'll also need a durable and comfortable footwear since it requires a lot of walking. My co-workers went on to tell me that it really feels great once you climbed the top of the mountain, it's like the best feeling in the world! And besides being fun, hiking is a form of exercise because of constant leg movements which strengthen our leg muscles. Now, I really need that! So the next time they invite me again, I might as well try it. I just need to buy those hiking shoes, backpack and yes a very thick jacket!

A Party This Saturday

Exactly one month after Hannah's 1st birthday party, she will attend another birthday party this Saturday courtesy of my co-worker's baby's 1st birthday. The party would be held at Active Fun Ranch at Pasig City which is a bit far from our place. Good thing my co-workers who will attend, rented a van that would take us there. I am still thinking if I would bring Adrel coz he becomes so naughty nowadays that it's very hard to pacify him at times. But I will bring Ness with me so I hope she could help me with 2 kids in tow.

Wow, I can't believe that almost 2 weeks has passed since Hannah's birthday! Having Hannah's birthday party at Jollibee is the best decision I've done on her birthday! The kids loved Jollibee and the mascot surely made everyone laugh and enjoy every minute of it. I would like to thank all the people who attended my baby's birthday!

Now, I am busy making a photobook for Hannah at Artscow. I hope it would turn out great!

My Baby Hannah's 1st Birthday was already finished. I will always have so many fond memories that I will cherish forever.
