Last Saturday was Hannah’s scheduled check-up and she was given an oral dose of Rotavirus vaccine by her pediatrician. For those who do not know, Rotavirus illness is transferred from one infected child to another by contaminated hands or objects. Washing with soaps or cleansers will not kill the virus, but will help reduce the spread of rotavirus. It is the most common cause of gastroenteritis in infants and young children worldwide
Rotavirus vaccine is being administered to infants between the age of 6 weeks and 1 year and the recommended schedule is a 3 dose series at age 2, 4 and 6 months.
