Rotavirus Vaccination

Last Saturday was Hannah’s scheduled check-up and she was given an oral dose of Rotavirus vaccine by her pediatrician. For those who do not know, Rotavirus illness is transferred from one infected child to another by contaminated hands or objects. Washing with soaps or cleansers will not kill the virus, but will help reduce the spread of rotavirus. It is the most common cause of gastroenteritis in infants and young children worldwide

Rotavirus vaccine is being administered to infants between the age of 6 weeks and 1 year and the recommended schedule is a 3 dose series at age 2, 4 and 6 months.

For more information about this vaccine go here:

Hannah's First Shoes

I bought Hannah her first shoes first from Baby Company and the other 2 from Enfant. The shoe from Baby Comp. was bought when she was just a few weeks old and still it was pretty big for her. Maybe if she turns 4 or 5 months old it would already fit her. The pink shoes with lace from Enfant was bought just this Saturday at SM Mall of Asia and the other white and pink shoes was bought yesterday at Festival Mall.

Hannah used the pink shoes with lace yesterday on her first trip to the church and it was really cute on her. A lot of people complimented her cute outfit and her cute shoes. After church, my sister invited us to go malling at Festival Mall and since me and my husband want to take Hannah for a stroll we joined my sister and her son there.

The first store I wanted to visit was of course the children's section. We visited Osh Kosh, Baby Company, Infanticipation, Barbie, Baby Guess and Enfant. I really wanted to buy Hannah a dress and shoes and since I already bought a dress for Hannah at Gingersnaps the day before(at SM MOA) my husband told me to just buy her another shoes so I settled for Enfant shoes which has flowers on the side. Here are Hannah's shoes and the pink one she wore yesterday.

Nanny woes Part 2

I forgot to post about what happened last Friday regarding Juliet(Hannah’s nanny)! Well to summarize, we found out that Juliet has been stealing from us since we don’t know when!

It started when my husband lost P1000 from his wallet and we were baffled since no one entered our room except us, and from what I know no one steals inside the house since there were no items that has been missing, and I was dead wrong about that! My husband confided to my mother that there was money missing in his wallet(I was not at home when that happened) and he asked her if Juliet entered our room. True enough, my mother proved his suspicion that Juliet has something to do with it since she was the one who entered our room to clean it. He then instructed my mother to let Juliet go upstairs so that they’ll inspect her bags and belongings. And what a shock that they found out a lot of stuff belonging to us! From necklaces, watches, rings even my underwear! We really didn’t knew that anything was missing at all so it was really surprising. Juliet then admitted of the stealing and she also returned the money after my husband threatened to bring her to the police station.

Right there and then I told my husband to let Juliet go. He really wanted it to report to the police but we just decided to blotter her to avoid further problems since we don’t know what Juliet’s relatives are capable of. Juliet’s really an excellent liar and she can turn things her way and tell her relatives a complete different story and I don’t wanna deal with her anymore so I told my husband to just let her out of the house.

I don’t know if I could trust another nanny or househelp. I don’t want this things to happen again but I’m still positive that there’s someone who could help us take care of Hannah since hubby will only be here for only a month and I’m working so we really need a nanny! I hope soon we’ll find one that’s trustworthy, dependable and industrious(he he, parang ad ba?).

At Last!

At last! I was able to capture her smile at our digital camera after a couple of shots(and I really mean A LOT of shots!). My husband was able to capture her smile at his cellphone but I really wanted it in our digicam since its more bright and she looks really beautiful when it was taken on a digicam. And we also got lucky coz Jerome, my nephew also took a shot of her with her dimples being seen. Look at this pictures, my heart always melts whenever I look at it...

Hannah's Favorite Things

Hello! Just wanna share with you some of my baby's things that I bought for her. This are not too fancy but she really likes the toy which incidentally is her very first toy and the books are all good for her development.

Hannah and her lullaby gloworm. This toy from Playskool eases the transition to bedtime with a frriendly, glowing face and 6 soothing lullaby songs. We play it to her when she's about to sleep and she becomes quiet and subdued.

This is her first bible and I bought it for only P170! I forgot the name of the store but it sells very cheap educational books that I bought some(pics below). I plan to buy her more as she grows older. I read this to her if I have the time.

Hubby & Hannah

Last Monday was Hannah's first meeting with her father, well actually she was asleep when my husband laid eyes on her for the first time. He was so excited to see Hannah and at the same time he was so afraid to hold her coz he might break her fragile body as what he said. I told him that it's just a matter of time and he would get used on holding her. Now we get to bond and spend most of the days coz he'll be here till October. On Hannah's next check up, hubby will accompany us and will get to meet her pediatrician for the first time.

Hairclips and Headbands

I really can't wait for Hannah's hair to grow coz I want to put clips and headbands on her hair so she would look a lot like a girl. I still can't let her ears pierced coz according to her pedia if she was given vaccination she can't let the baby's ears pierced. Last Saturday she had a vaccine so her ears getting pierced was postponed for the meantime. So to make her look a lot like a girl I put some clips and a headband on her and she was so adorable! Please take a look at some of the photos I took on her...

Isn't she cute?

6-in-1 Vaccination

Hannah had her check-up last Saturday and was given a 6 in 1 combination vaccine by her pediatrician. Being given a combination of vaccines has its share of benefits for your baby like less injection so less pain for the baby, takes only 3 visits to complete the series and has a coverage or protection against the 6 diseases in just 1 injection. This diseases are as follows:

1. Hepatitis B - an infection of the liver caused by a virus.
2. Diphtheria - caused by bacteria that produce a poison or toxin.
3. Tetanus - caused by toxin or poison produced by a bacteria that enters the body through a cut wound.
4. Pertussis - caused by bacteria. It can cause spells of violent coughing and choking making it hard to breathe, drink or eat.
5. Hib Disease - Haemophilus influenzae type b(Hib) bacteria causes meningitis.
6. Polio - caused by a vius that spread by contact with feces(bowel movement) of an infected person.
(Adopted From: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)

Honestly I really got scared when I learned of this diseases so even though this vaccine's not cheap, I immediately decided to get this single shot for my daughter. When Dra. Laurie inject the needle on Hannah she screamed her lungs out and I was so hepless seeing her cry like that. I really pity her but it's all for the best. Dra. Laurie said that if she had fever she'll have to take a medicine but fortunately she didn't. Next month would be her next check up and she will have another vaccination which is the Rotavirus vaccine. I'll have a separate post regarding that next month after her vaccination.
